Throughout the terminal’s architecture and aesthetics, one can find elements of minerals, water, and greenery, which are all reminiscent of the world of Pandora in the popular sci-fi film “Avatar.” From ceiling designs that reflect natural landforms to carpet patterns and lush green columns adorned with a variety of plants, the terminal offers visitors a respite from the hustle and bustle of travel even before they step out of the airport.

The illuminating overhaul, which is filled with immersive installations, is a collaboration between multimedia entertainment studio Moment Factory and Boiffils, the lead interior design partner for the revamp.

Upon entering the departure hall, passengers are greeted by The Wonderfall, a 14-meter-tall (45.9-foot-tall) digital “waterfall” that cascades over megalithic boulders amid a vertical garden. This colossal LED wall consists of 892 individual tiles, which are seamlessly joined into three large segments. Its curved form ensures that everyone has a great view, regardless of where they are standing.

The Wonderfall plays a show every 30 minutes throughout the day, with music by Jean-Michel Blais and dynamic lighting effects that respond to real-time lighting conditions. Guests will feel as though they are stepping right into a waterfall as the display is positioned at the entrance to the elevator lobby.

In addition to The Wonderfall, the revitalized Terminal 2 also features a variety of other nature-inspired installations. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the revitalized Terminal 2 also offers a number of new and improved amenities for passengers. For example, the terminal now has a wider range of dining and shopping options, as well as more comfortable seating areas and charging stations. It also has a new transit lounge for passengers who are connecting to flights, as well as a new family zone with dedicated play areas for children of all ages.

Overall, the revitalized Terminal 2 at Singapore’s Changi Airport is a stunning example of how to create a world-class transportation hub that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. With its nature-inspired theme and immersive installations, the terminal offers passengers a unique and unforgettable travel experience.
