Having the advantage of a giant lotus growing area and an abundant culinary culture, the People’s Committee of Dong Thap province organized the processing and presentation of 200 lotus-based dishes as an event to promote the local specialties and introduce to domestic and foreign friends the culinary quintessence of Vietnam in general and Dong Thap province in particular.

Ten culinary experts and 50 chefs were on hand to process and present 200 delicacies. These 200 dishes were made from the various parts of the lotus plant, such as lotus root, lotus flower stem, lotus leaf, lotus seed heart, etc. After completion, 200 dishes will be presented in the shape of a 10-petal lotus bloom.

Under the authorization of the World Records Union (WorldKings), Representative of Vietnam Records Organization (Vietkings) attended the event to announce and award the World Record to People’s Committee of Dong Thap province (from lelf through ): Dr. Thang Van Phuc, Member of the Council of the World Records Union (WorldKings), Chairman of the Vietnam Record Association; Dr. Lawyer Nguyen Van Vien, Member of the Council of the World Records Union (WorldKings), Vice President of the Vietnam Record Association and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Quynh Ngoc, the General Secretary of the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings).
