Summit at a high point along the Icefields Parkway, Peyto Lake is set far below in a deep glacial valley. This view is easy to reach along a paved trail.
There are some café and souvenir shops, and local warm accommodation options on the road for you to take some rest and a coffee while enjoying the landscape. And in fact, there is only one gas station on the Icefields Parkway, the Saskatchewan River Crossing. So plan ahead with a full fuel tank and food.
