Trollstigen is located about 15 km south of Åndalsnes in Romsdal, this road has a slope of 9% with 11 turns along the slopes of Mount Stigrøra 858 meters above sea level. The road surface is very small and there is very little room wide enough for 2 cars to avoid each other.

Trollstigen together with Geiranger and Geirangrfjord is one of the most visited attractions in Norway. The mountains surrounding the Trollstigen road are extremely majestic.

Trollstigen Road is also considered one of the strangest winding roads in the world because it does not follow any rules. Seen from above, this road is really like a maze and you will not be able to find the exit if you are not a person who is good at navigating. Also because it is quite dangerous, Trollstigen closes in the autumn and winter months and only reopens in late April or early May every year.

The most prominent feature is the 320m-high Stigfossen waterfall that splashes white foam day and night, the scenery on both sides of the road is very majestic and spectacular. There is an old stone bridge over the Stigfossen waterfall. Depending on the amount of snow melt and other conditions, the flow can actually be dramatic.

There are three impressive balconies that allow you to look down on the road and valley below. The largest balcony hangs 200 meters above the ground, but the glass and steel structure keeps you safe as you take in breathtaking views of the track-like road below.
