Renowned Italian barebow archer Cinzia Noziglia has set a new world record for the 60-arrow 18-metre qualifying round at the European Indoor Championships in Croatia, shooting 556 points to beat Lina Bjorklund’s previous world best by four.

Simone Barbieri (559) was top barebow men’s seed, Italian pair Matteo Borsani (592) and Chiara Rebagliati (584) qualified first in the recurve events, while compound poles went to world number one Ella Gibson (591) and Mathias Fullerton (599).

Noziglia who finished top of the qualifying ranking, while the other Italians Fabio Rovatti and Alessandra Bigogno finished in fifth and seventh place with 517 and 516 points. Italy which also finished ahead of the men’s with Simon Barbers who scored 559 points, Giuseppe Seimandi is fifth with 534, while Valter Basteri finishes sixth with 532.
