Back in September, Huawei unveiled its Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro smartwatch with a new design and support for wireless charging. On December 12, a new version of the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro with an electrocardiogram function will go on sale in China. According to Chinese sources, the Chinese tech giant is preparing a new smartwatch; which was originally planned for release this year, but is now expected to launch in 2021.

The source did not reveal the characteristics of the new watch; however, the watch will differ markedly from the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro. At a developer conference this fall, Huawei announced the release of the HarmonyOS 2.0 SDK for IoT devices; including smartwatches, and developers began developing apps for the HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system. The source has no doubts that the next Huawei smartwatch will run the new HarmonyOS operating system and will initially appear in China.
