This is the second Vietnam Record of the Professional Chefs Association of Lam Dong. Previously in April 2021, the Association also successfully set a Vietnam Record with the content: “The largest event of processing and performing dishes from Da Lat’s vegetables and flowers simultaneously in Vietnam”.

On the afternoon of September 19, 2023, the event officially took place at Arapang restaurant in the TTC World tourist area – Valley of Love. The majority of attendances come from kitchens of restaurants, hotels, resorts and eateries in Da Lat. Besides, there are also many competing teams from other provinces and cities across the country, such as Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Binh Thuan, Phu Yen, Dak Lak, Dong Nai, Ben Tre, etc.

Da Lat artichoke is processed with other ingredients such as many kinds of meat and seafood with Da Lat vegetables using diverse cooking methods according to the region’s typical strengths region of each participating team.

After the professional inspection, the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) authenticated the number of dishes from Da Lat artichoke at the event as 146, meeting the quantity as the registration document. The Professional Chefs Association of Lam Dong officially set a new record with the content: “The largest event of processing and performing dishes from Da Lat’s vegetables and flowers simultaneously in Vietnam”.

On the evening of September 19, 2023, the Professional Chef Association of Lam Dong Province officially received the Vietnam Record certificate. On the side of the Vietnam Record Association and the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) had the presence of: Mr. Duong Duy Lam Vien – General Secretary of the Vietnam Record Association, Director of the Vietnam Records Institute, Mr. Phung Quy Ngoc – Member of the Establishment Council of the Vietnam Records Organization, Mrs. Tran Thu Phuong – Head of the Record Appraisal Committee of the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings).

In early March 2023, in the implementation phase of the Journey to seek and promote the special values of Vietnam, especially culinary and specialties values, the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) continues to complete nomination dossiers sent to the Asia Book of Records for recognition of record values for famous dishes and specialties of Vietnam, including Dalat artichokes. In early April 2023, the Asia Book of Records officially recognized the Asian Record value of Da Lat artichoke according to the criteria set by the Asia Book of Records.
