Mrs. Ngo Thi Thanh Tam is a tea collector with a fondness for Yixing teapots. Mrs. Ngo Thi Thanh Tam (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) gathered 1000 sets of Yixing Yixing teapots (called “Tam Tra Dieu Bao” collection) from the Qing Dynasty to the present from 1994 to 2022.
‘Tam Tra Dieu Bao’ collection has been collected for many years.
The “Tam Tra Dieu Bao” collection consists of 1,000 teapots and teacups handcrafted from Yixing clay in Yixing City, China, and featuring a wide range of fine and unique designs, colors, and patterns. A well-known feature of the Yixing pot is its ability to absorb trace amounts of brewed tea flavor and minerals into the teapot after each brew. Over time, these flavors accumulate to give each Yixing teapot a unique coating of its own, giving flavor and color to future brews.
The unique collection, which includes objects created by the great hands of artisans from the Qing Dynasty to the present, was amassed and painstakingly selected by the owner over the period of over 30 years.
The World Record Association (WRA) officially awarded Mrs. Ngo Thi Thanh Tam the World Record Certificate for possessing the “Tam Tra Dieu Bao” collection – the world’s largest collection of Yixing teapot sets in many ages – on the occasion of the 52nd Vietnamese Record Holders Meeting, held on May 20, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Mrs. Ngo Thi Thanh Tam’s collection was also formally recognized by the World Records Union (Worldkings) at the same gathering as the world’s largest collection of Yixing teapot sets in many ages.
