CAP Life skills is devised by the award winning debt counselling charity, Christians Against Poverty and is run by Welcome Church. Christians Against Poverty is an organization that has been providing free professional debt help through local churches throughout the UK since 1996.

CAP Life Skills provides all the training and ongoing support to equip people struggling with low income to budget and manage the pressures of life. The CAP Life Skills 8-session course teaches students practical money-saving techniques, such as cooking frugally, living healthy while saving less and earning more. It will also give learners top tips for dealing with life’s pressures and help them take control of their future.

To create the CAP Life Skills, CAP members applied the principles of the CAP Money Course, which thousands of people benefit from every year, while giving it greater depth and scope. to be able to actually serve those in need. CAP Life Skills is a free weekly course designed to teach learners practical ways to save money. Coping with the pressures of life can sometimes be a stressful and lonely challenge. That’s why CAP Life Skills is designed to be a fun and comfortable place where learners will meet others in similar situations who understand and can encourage them.

Knowing exactly where money is coming from and where it is going each month can be a challenge. Students will have the opportunity to benefit from one-on-one support from a CAP Life Skills Trained Coach who will help them think through their spending choices and work towards creating a simple budget. This will give them better control over their money and ease the pressure that money can bring.
