The Vietnam Records Organization has formally proposed to the World Records Institute (WorldMark) and the USA Records Organization (USKings) beginning the Journey to nominate TOP 100 best-selling OCOP-certified items in Vietnam 2023 with the purpose of enhancing the image of the nation and the Vietnamese people not only through record values but also through other distinctive qualities. Due to this journey, foreign buyers will have comprehensive and close access to Vietnam’s distinctive values.

Buon Choah is a distant commune in Dak Nong province along the Krong No River. This territory is located at the foot of the Nam B’lang volcano, hence it is parched and difficult to live in. As a result, Buon Choah was “isolated” for a while and was unable to flourish like other communities. However, it wasn’t until new rice types like ST24 and ST25 were introduced that the lives of the residents of Buon Choah commune began to change.
Rice is farmed on more over 700 hectares per crop in Buon Choah commune, yielding 11-12 tons per hectare. Buon Choah rice is always tasty when grown properly and in accordance with the VietGAP procedure. Buon Choah has now become an important food region for Dak Nong province, as well as one of the Central Highlands’ primary wet-rice growing districts.
Buon Choah Rice is produced following VietGAP standards; the rice is still bran, has not been bleached, contains no flavorings, and only retains the rice’s natural aroma. You can taste the softness and sweetness of each bite once it’s cooked. Rice grains are elongated, bright yellow, soft, fragrant, and packed with nutrients. The Buon Choah rice products were acknowledged by the People’s Committee of Dak Nong Province in December 2020 as having achieved the 4-star OCOP standard.
The journey to nominate and promote the TOP-BEST best-selling OCOP-certified products in 63 provinces and cities of Vietnam is one of the projects implemented under the strategic alliance between the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings), the USA Records Organization (USKings) and the World Records Institute (WorldMark), with the goal of propagating and promoting the record values of countries worldwide.
