Eviation Aircraft is an Israeli aerospace manufacturer that focuses on the development of electric aircraft. The company was founded in 2015 by Omer Bar-Yohay. Eviation is known for its commitment to advancing electric aviation technology and aims to revolutionize regional transportation by providing electric aircraft solutions.

In 2022, Aircraft successfully launched the world’s first all-electric passenger aircraft, Alice, from Grant County International Airport. The zero-emission plane traveled at an altitude of 1km for its eight-minute inaugural flight.

The Eviation Alice is an electric aircraft designed to accommodate nine passengers and two crew members. First developed in Israel, its construction incorporates 95% composite material, is powered by two electric motors, and has a T-tail. The prototype first flew on 27 September 2022.

Alice is designed for flights of up to 250 miles. The electric plane has a “maximum useful load” of up to 2,600 pounds, which Eviation says is enough to carry up to nine passengers at a time over these shorter distances. The company combined resources from more than half a dozen suppliers in order to build the sleek, futuristic airplane and its powertrain.

The company says it expects to be working on developing an FAA-certified aircraft through 2025 followed by a year or two of flight testing before it can deliver Alices to customers. Eviation is currently targeting entering the Alice into service by 2027.
