The Khunjerab Pass Marathon, also known as the Khunjerab Pass Challenge, is a unique and challenging marathon held at the Khunjerab Pass, the highest paved international border crossing in the world.

The pass sits at a staggering 4,693 meters (15,397 feet) above sea level, nestled amidst the breathtaking peaks of the Karakoram mountain range on the border between Pakistan and China.

The event is organized by Z Adventures, a Pakistani adventure travel company, in collaboration with the Pakistan Air Force and local authorities. They provide comprehensive race packages including transportation, accommodation, meals, race entry, and finisher’s medal, making it a convenient option for international runners.

50 international athletes from around the world (including 500 local runners) will be selected to take part in the race.  Half the spots will be allocated to female runners. Interested international athletes are requested to complete the online application form.  All applications will be reviewed by the committee and selected runners will be notified by email.

As part of sports diplomacy, this race will support a local charity. Part of the entry fee will be donated to help improve the economic and social life of the beneficiaries of the charity.
