The Liebian International Building is a remarkable skyscraper in Guiyang, China, that’s famous for its cascading waterfall facade. Imagine a 121-meter tower adorned with a 108-meter curtain of water gracefully flowing down its side. It’s a truly mesmerizing sight that has earned the building international attention.

The waterfall is designed to be a tourist attraction and was built by the Guizhou Ludiya Property Management Company, a private company that had its offices in the skyscraper. The Liebian Building also houses a hotel and shopping center.

This spectacular waterfall is powered by an electrical system that consists of four pumps at a power of 185 kilowatts which consumes over $115 an hour. The water is a combination of rainwater and recycled tap water which was once stored in an underground storage and drainage system and then used again for the falls. The waterfall is only activated for a maximum of 20 minutes at a time and only for important events.

Unlike a constant roar, the waterfall serenades the city on special occasions and designated times, adding an element of surprise and delight to its performance. I
