Hallam Football Club is an English football club based in Crosspool, Sheffield, South Yorkshire. They play in the Northern Counties East League Division One, at level 10 of the English football league system. Founded in 1860, it is second only to local rivals Sheffield F.C. in the list of the oldest association football clubs in the world.

First opened in 1804, Hallam F.C. has played at the ground since 1860. On 26 December 1860, the world’s first inter-club football match was played at the ground, Hallam taking on Sheffield F.C.

The ground offers to view for spectators from 3 sides of the pitch: The Shed End, the Main Stand, and the Cricket Net End.

The current shape of Sandygate is the outcome of renovations and expansions in the 1990s. In 1992 the floodlights were added, while in 1999 the covered grandstand for 250 people opened. Behind it, new player facilities were created, while old locker rooms were converted into a clubhouse.
