The bridge is being built by the China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group. The construction of the bridge began in 2019 and is expected to be completed in 2025.

The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge will be a major tourist attraction in Guizhou Province. It will also provide a much-needed transportation link between the two sides of the canyon.
