114 people with different nationalities gathered in Doha, Qatar, on 25 March 2022 to practice and learn yoga resulting in a new world record for most nationalities in a yoga lesson.

Participants hailed from all corners of the world including;

Afghanistan, Argentina, Belgium, Bhutan, Canada, China, Denmark, Republic of Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Germany, Ghana, Hungary, India, Ireland, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Latvia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mauritius, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Peru, Qatar, Romania, Republic of Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Vietnam, Yemen and Zambia – as well as many more countries! 

The record breakers dedicated their achievement to celebrating Qatar’s diverse community and to the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Instructed by Nisha Agrawal, the yoga lesson lasted for 40 minutes in which participants simultaneously followed different yoga postures and poses.

Each participant had a sign showing the country they were from in front of them during the record attempt.
