Having a picnic under a shaded table overlooking Hell’s Bend is a wonderful experience. The Hikers’ Viewpoint is a great spot to watch the sunset. Palm Springs Viewpoint is only recommended for travelers staying overnight in the area. It has the view of another tight bend along the river.

Canyon Roadhouse and Ai-Ais Hot Springs are ones of a few spots that travelers can stop by to relax after a long day of in the dirt road. In the hot Namib sun, nothing beats a cold beer at this famous, quirky institution of Canyon Roadhouse. Ai-Ais hot springs are a popular spot for relaxation. The springs are said to have therapeutic properties and are a great way to soothe sore muscles after a long day of driving.

The road to the Fish River Canyon is not for amateur drivers. It is unpaved and can be challenging to drive, especially in wet condition. It is important to be aware of the road conditions and to drive slowly and carefully.
