Davide Andreani is a Coca-Cola fan after our own hearts – and then some. He’s been collecting commemorative and special edition cans for most of his life and, back in 2015, he even set World Records for the possessing the ‘Largest collection of soft drink cans’ – with a collection at the time made up of 10,558 Coca Cola cans.

Since then his obsession has gone from strength-to-strength, and today stands at a whopping collection well in excess of 20,000 cans. The collection is so large, in fact, that only 5,000 cans can be displayed in Davide’s home at any one time. The rest finding refuge in the garage, a situation Davide one day hopes to rectify.

Either way, with such an overwhelming passion for Coca-Cola cans, we knew we had to speak to him – and find out more about his undying love for our cans.

“I started collecting coke cans when I was around six or seven years old. The first cans were those my father brought home from his travels abroad, special design cans, or small airplane cans.

“When I was a kid, I had a little wooden showcase with just a few dozen cans. Then, over time, it became a few hundred. With the explosion of the internet and the chance to contact other serious collectors around the world, that collection has turned into thousands.”

“The simple reason is I like the cans and I love collecting – to me it’s very much a hobby. When new cans arrive, it’s always Christmas time for me. I love the emotion I feel when I get a new pack of cans to open.”

“For me personally, collecting Coke cans is a hobby and my collection is always growing. In the last year alone I have added 1,000 cans and I expect to carry on at this rate in the coming years.

“I like the beautiful story of the Coca-Cola brand. Coca-Cola was a precursor brand in many aspects, both in advertising and in marketing. If we think that the word Coca-Cola is the most sold drink in the world and is the second most common word, after ‘OK’ how can I not remain in love?”
