Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre Co., Ltd. (CMLL) is a lucha libre professional wrestling promotion based in Mexico City. The promotion was previously known as Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre (EMLL) (Mexican Wrestling Enterprise). It is the oldest and most successful professional wrestling promotion in Mexico, and it is one of the most popular and influential professional wrestling promotions in the world.

CMLL was founded in 1933 by Salvador Lutteroth González, who is considered the “father of lucha libre”. The promotion quickly became popular, and it helped to popularize lucha libre around the world.

CMLL currently recognizes and promotes 12 World Championships in various weight divisions and classifications, six national level and six regional level championships. The CMLL Anniversary Show series is the longest-running annual major show in professional wrestling, starting in 1934.

CMLL has produced many of the most famous lucha libre wrestlers in history, including El Santo, Blue Demon, Mil Máscaras, and Rey Mysterio. The promotion has also been featured in numerous films and television shows, including the 1986 film “El Santo contra los Zombies” and the 2007 television show “Lucha Libre USA”.

As of September 1, 2023, CMLL is still in operation and continues to produce weekly wrestling shows in Mexico City. The promotion is also expanding its international presence, with shows in the United States, Japan, and other countries.
